These Terms of Service contain important information about your legal rights, including limitations on our liability and disclaimers regarding AI-generated content. By using Job Coach, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Job Coach platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Job Coach ("we," "us," or "our"), governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada and the applicable federal laws of Canada.

2. Description of Service

Job Coach is an AI-powered career preparation platform that provides tools including, but not limited to: mock interview practice, resume analysis and optimization, career direction assessments, interview question preparation, LinkedIn profile suggestions, job application tracking, and career coaching chat. The Service is intended for informational and educational purposes only.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

AI Content — Not Professional Advice

All content generated by the Service, including interview feedback, resume suggestions, career assessments, and coaching responses, is produced by artificial intelligence systems and constitutes general informational content only. It does not constitute professional career counselling, legal, financial, psychological, or employment advice.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information.
  • AI feedback on interviews, resumes, or career paths is not a substitute for advice from a qualified human career counsellor, recruiter, or employment professional.
  • The Service does not guarantee that following any AI-generated advice will result in employment, improved job prospects, salary increases, or any other specific outcome.
  • You should independently verify any information provided by the Service before relying on it for important career or employment decisions.
  • AI systems may reflect biases present in their training data; we do not warrant that outputs are free from bias.

4. No Employment Guarantee

Job Coach makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees, express or implied, that use of the Service will result in job placement, employment offers, career advancement, salary increases, or any other employment-related outcome. Any testimonials, case studies, or success stories displayed on the platform represent individual results and are not typical. Individual results will vary based on numerous factors outside our control, including but not limited to the job market, your qualifications, employer requirements, and economic conditions. In accordance with the Canadian Competition Act (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-34), we do not make performance claims that we cannot substantiate.

5. Subscription and Billing

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Recurring Billing: Subscription fees are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) until cancelled. You authorize us to charge your payment method on each renewal date.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period unless required by applicable law.
  • Price Changes: We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' written notice to your registered email address.
  • Taxes: Prices displayed may not include applicable Canadian federal or provincial taxes (including HST/GST). You are responsible for all applicable taxes.
  • Refunds: Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact us at [email protected]. We comply with applicable consumer protection legislation in your province.

6. User Accounts and Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
  • Not use the Service to harass, harm, or discriminate against any individual.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of the Service.
  • Not upload content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, software, trademarks, and materials comprising the Service are owned by or licensed toJob Coach and are protected under Canadian and international intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You retain ownership of content you upload (such as resumes), but grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, Job Coach and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of employment opportunities, lost income, loss of data, or reputational harm, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) CAD $100. Some provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities; in such cases, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. TO THE EXTENT REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE CANADIAN CONSUMER PROTECTION LEGISLATION, CERTAIN IMPLIED WARRANTIES MAY NOT BE EXCLUDED.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including payment processors and AI providers. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada. If you are a consumer resident in another Canadian province, you may also have rights under the consumer protection legislation of your province.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and, where required by applicable law, by sending notice to your registered email address at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
